The New UNICEF Country Director, Dr. Robin Nandy, together with the Chief Child Protection Ms Veronica Avati, and Ms Deborah Gasana, the Child protection Officer, visited the Chief Justice on Wednesday March 5, 2025.

The UNICEF team introduced their areas of intervention being speedy trials for juveniles, provision of child-friendly services, institutionalized capacity building through JTI for stakeholders in the justice chain and improved coordination and collaboration.

The Chief Justice welcome the New UNICEF Country Representative and reassured him that the Judiciary is committed to effective justice needs for all including children. He emphasized the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution in many aspects of Justice delivery in Uganda. 

In attendance was the Personal Assistant to the Chief Justice, HW Peter Fred Lochomin.
